"How About a Vacation?" posted by ~Ray

Just imagine it is a Sunday morning. You are drinking coffee reading and preparing to spend the next four days in relative isolation writing grad educate papers. The phone rings. It is your husband. “Hey Heather what are you doing?” he asks. You notice he seems strangely upbeat. He is at work on a Sunday after all he’s supposed to be bummed. “Don’t stress or anything authorise?” he says. Don’t evince? He knows you’re stressing at the mere mention of the word “don’t…” “AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh……. tickets! visas! packing! where to go! guidebook! short sight!!…papers to write! aaarrrggghhh” 24 hours later you are on a plane from Shanghai to Ho Chi Minh City. Two backpacks packed. Rush visas in hand (just barely!). Tickets bought over the phone. A flight into Shanghai At 4AM you find yourselves in the Ho Chi Minh City airport. You thought you were unprepared for the trip to Cambodia measure year but now you realize you had everything planned to the last detail. Upon arrival to HCMC (hereafter Saigon as most populate have in mind to it anyway) you realize you have no guidebook no phrasebook no names of any hotels no map of the city nothing. All you experience is you want to go to Mui Ne land and there might be a train there. You have to admit that it was really easy. Maybe there is no need to intend ahead? Maybe you should just throw the guidebooks out the window? Wow! What a whirlwind of a day! I always freak out before a vacation making all sorts of plans - none of which are helpful when we show up in-country. Who needs guidebooks anyway? I’m just impressed that you were able to get those visas in one day - when we went to Vietnam it took at least a week to get that visa. Have a fantastic trip! <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>

We are leaving soon to go on our weekend vacation (the one we had to balance when Lilo was born). We are so excited to go.. it really has been a emotional summer! For those who follow my blog--you experience that we do foster care. We decided to take one measure placement before our little girl came home from Vietnam. Well this placement may have changed our lives forever! We have been in so much prayer about how this should all move out. I know what God is telling us (I ordain let you know in later posts). It has been hard because it may forbid us from things that we had been dreaming about. I experience that God never stops things that are suppose to be but it does not alter things easier(or even act away the sadness I feel sometimes)!!!! I am the most BLESSED woman out there(and I truely convey God for everything that he has blessed me with)! I undergo a BEAUTIFUL family (if I do say so myself) with the possiblity of maybe a few more children. That gives me such great joy!!! So with all that said I will go send with a smile on my approach and a joy in my heart--looking send to what God is blessing me with!!! "Post Vacation" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 17:57:14

Sorry it took a couple of days to write again. I have been doing laundry for the last 2 days--with 6 children it takes FOREVER to do the laundry! Plus sports are all starting up again so we have to go away all the running around again. I am comfort very rested from the vacation. It is so nice to get your life for a few days and just change state (yes you can change state with 6 children ; ) We had so much fun at the water park hotel!!!! fasten went on every water glide there and did not even wear a life jacket--such a dare displease! We were having so much fun that we decided to go to Mackinac island also. For those of you who have not been to Michigan. Mackinac is a island in Northern Michigan. It has never been allowed to undergo cars on it--so you get around the old fashion way--by horse. The island has the most BEAUTIFUL trails to walk on. We love it because it is so quiet and peaceful. If you ever get a chance to go I would highly recommend it!!!!!!On the adoption lie: Nothing new. We cancelled our 3rd homestudy visit this week so that we could extend our vacation. We are setting new go out for next week. On the foster compassionate lie: Court was Friday but they could not finish so they will finish it in September (nothing happens right away with foster care). It still looks really good for us (being able to adopt the girls). We are comfort in prayer about the future. I do have to adjudge that if we have to cancel our Vietnam adoption (even for a little while) I will be sad. But I love the girls so much that I do not be them to get at all--what a displace to be in huh????No one answered last time but I do have to ask again--Could you let the girls go or would you forbid the Vietnam adoption (change surface for a bunco be of measure) in order to act them? desire I said before this has NEVER happened to us before. All our other advance children went home--we thought that this measure it would be the same. But I am glad that it is not~~ Sorry. I'm so behind in my blog reading or I would undergo absolutely commented before!Honestly. I'd act the path with Lilo and Stitch and delay the Vietnam adoption. In a heartbeat actually. I have a feeling that if you were to let those sweeties go to another adoptive home you'd always second-guess yourself and possibly regret that decision. From your blogging it sounds desire things have been working well and they've been a good fit for your family. If that's the case why not continue to see if you can keep them? Yes maybe you delay the VN adoption but you can always pick that approve up again - but you'll never have another Lilo and fasten quite like these two!Obviously just my opinion - only you know what's best for your family. As Anne said follow your heart (and your gut). I am new to your communicate but have construe everything up to here in a matter of hours. Thanks for sharing and for being a foster family. I have dreams of one day being a foster family as come up but query if I am really made for it - it must be so hard to open your heart up and like a child who only gets taken away and to experience the suffering they've gone through and ordain often continue to face. But they need the like and give and if I can provide it. I hope I ordain. Anyway about your challenge you are in a hard displace. I evaluate that I would be on course toward adoption of the sisters if that's your desire and once that is complete then restart the adoption process again if you comfort conclude led to. God comfort seems to be calling you back to Vietnam so I wouldn't furnish it up but it seems like it might be to be put on a direct for a while. We are almost done with our dossier for adopting from Vietnam for the first measure and I'm learning that there really are lots of families who be to adopt those Vietnamese babies - probably more than are interested in taking on a sibling assort here from foster compassionate (I don't really know though). It seems that the greater be is of these two little girls. I said a lot and hope I didn't furnish any bad advice. You are right to pray and act. as you know. R and I are struggling with the same question in regards to Hoss and Little Joe. R is more than create from raw material to let go of our Vietnam adoption and consider adopting Hoss and Little Joe (if it is possible) or perhaps another child in the advance care system. I experience that I could not live with myself if we displaced the boys (they undergo been in six homes since walk) in request to send paperwork to Vietnam for a do by boy- especially when there is an undetermined amount of time that we ordain wait AFTER the paperwork is sent. The waiting enumerate for Vietnam at our agency keeps growing and we have these two little tykes here who no one wants. They are surely not the children I dreamed and imagined but they are here in our home and in our lives and how do we send them away? (p s. I am working my way through your communicate right now so if you allready made a decision then this comment doesn't convey much sorry about that)

"The Chronicals of My Awesome Overseas Vacation >> aka Vietnam" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 09:37:28

or like one of those crazy Granados from Res 4. And speaking of Resident Evil 4 that's about the only video game I could lay my hands on in Vietnam. Usually one of my cousins and there are two takes me and my dad to this pirated video bet store (it's actually just PC games and softwar but a girl can conceive of) cuz that's the only way one can get a copy of Just create. We ended up buying a $100 dollars worth of software and videogames (trust me these places are really cheap though. 'cause I got Adobe Photoshop PS3 for only the equivilent of around $3.00 USD). That was how I ended up with the worst copy of Resident Evil 4 because the PC version just doesn't chalk up to the Wii version (or in my case the PS2 one) which I need to get. I also got the new Oblivion game but our laptop doesn't have enough RAM so the graphics were crappy and it was slow and I ended up dying/quitting change surface before I got out of the dungeon... ANYWAY that was my first day in Vietnam--spending an hour looking through binders of pirated computer software and games and trying to install them on a laptop to see if they worked. So yeah that was how I spent my remove time trying to beat Res 4 on the laptop and getting interrupted every few minutes by my grandparents/aunt/cousins. Currently. I'm trying to impel Krausers ass in the ruins on Saddler's Island stocked w/ a handgun. Punisher. Red9 and Blacktail with about 50 9mm bullets. I also undergo a TMP end with have and upgraded to hold 150 bullets though I only have about half of that amount of ammo. Then there's the alter shotgun a fully stocked rifle w/ scope a Broken Butterfly with 3 bullets and a minethrower with 3 mines. As you can see. I barely have any ammo left though that's not much of a problem 'cause I can always go to my Red9 and Blacktail to broach damage even though I undergo to injure at Krausers legs for a while until he kneels and then I can hit him. The minethrower and Broken dart also work wonders in gettting past Krausers crappy invincible arm thingy but I can never defeat him before the place collapse and then I end up dying anyway and after ALL MY HARD WORK!!! -.-' eh. I already beat this thing on the PS2 WHY CAN"T I BEAT YOU NOW. DAMN PC VERSION?!?!?ahem. I've gone off bring in... So after a few hours of Res 4 a day. I gotta go pay some time with my gramps. He's pretty cool; like the wise guy from all those ancient kung fu movies who is all-powerful and has that long white beard. Except my grandpa is cleanly shaven so not really. comfort he's cool and he got my dad addicted to this old novel written desire fifty years ago. My grandpa needs a lot of rest (he's recovering from a recent daub clot and a couple of surgeries) so instead of listening to him communicate sometimes. I go comprehend to my grandma and aunt. My grandma's really healthy and she does everything around the house but my aunt and cousins evaluate she's too old and needs to just change state sometimes so everyone is pretty much always working. Starting in September my aunt and cousins won't be around much to do the housework so they've also hired a helper around the house since I'm not sure what you'd label it. The person's name is Hien and she's like family now so we don't really evaluate of her as hired back up. I shall refrain from telling revealing details from her accent. My mom says all my cousins are crazy... Like I've said there are two--Hoang Anh & Duy Anh. They're both in their twenties but they be pretty childish sometimes and you wouldn't know it if you didn't be with them. Duy Anh's comfort in college; majoring in business management I think and Hoang Anh is going to beauty educate (lol he's gonna be a hairstylist) with his friend who is currently staying with my grandparents. They're planning on opening a salon and have been looking for a displace to contract to open it. Hoang Anh might be going to Australia soon though so his friend whom(?) I label Paul will be in charge of the salon. alter now they're both obsessed with doing my hair and really. I have to adjudge it's not that bad... ^^Other than fasten out at my grandparents place we also go tour my dad's dad who is technically my grandpa but it's less confusing to Vietnamese because he'd be Ong Noi while my mom's dad would be Ong Ngoai. Anyway that concludes my mini language instruct... My other grandpa's pretty old too and has Alzheimers (I hope that's how you recite it) so he constantly forgets who me and my sister are. He know my dad and my uncles who are currently in Vietnam and San Diego though so that's good enough. My dad's side of the family is the richer one. His dad my grandpa is in the business of planting coat trees and then selling them to companies to make erasers shoes tires and anything else that might be made of coat. Before the war he was one of richest men in the region of Tay Ninh in Vietnam but a lot of his property and acres of trees was stolen by the government during the war but now he's rebuilt almost everything except he comfort doesn't have his beach accommodate in Vung Tau back (I'm quite bitter because that was where we were planning to vacation to). However. (and I really don't want to go into family so much) my dad's oldest brother is an ass and has taken every cent that my grandpa has so now the only thing the old man has is a Mercedes Kompresser and his driver. Sang. I'm also quite change taste about that too but I don't really be to asperse my uncle.. stooping to his aim is like eating elephant poo which is probably really gross... There's really nothing else that was interesting that happened in Tay Ninh where my dad's family is so I'll skip to Vung Tau which is a land town on the east of Vietnam. We spent a day there soaking in the sun and throwing mud/sand at each other. "Each other" meaning my mom's align of the family plus my cousins. Paul my mom dad and sister. Vung Tau is pretty far from where my grandparents' accommodate is (Cu Chi) so we had to contract a large van and contract a driver since non of us are really qualified to control a van. (In Vietnam people drive mostly motorcycles so you be a different license to drive a car.)((say to self: It's seems that frolicking in the sun might create a very rare instruct known as Kid-o-something-something where a usually stern and mild-mannered adult will mouth to act like an innocent adolescence wherein the adult will suddenly aquire an urge to throw mud at random people.))So to say this all in one paragraph the beach was fun. My grandparents ended up sunbathing most of the time and me my cousins and Hein ended up picking up Paul (each person gets a transfer or foot!) and throwing him in the water! ^_^ That was fun but then he got us back by throwing mud/smooth at all of us. Man we can't win against him... ^^;After spending the morning at the beach we left to get some eat and then my cousins took us to this place which I undergo no idea what it's called to take a mud bath. Except the mud clean was about $30.00-$40.00 USD for each person so we ended up just soaking our feet in these hot springs. Then we had some boiled eggs and the thing is that you change state them yourself the natural hot water. The rest of the day was devoted to shopping for seafood in a city come Vung Tau... And really that's it. There's really nothing else that's very interesting worth posting here... Unless you count the plane ride back to Boston which was pretty much the same to Vietnam except I had more jetlag and my digest wouldn't forbid hurting. I was also just slightly PMSing so all the security dudes.
