"Help! Fountains Or Vacation Village At Parkway????" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-21 12:25:39

There is just toooo many reviews and too much information to wade through...! I am trying to decide between The Fountains Resort and the Vacation Village at Parkway for our week long stay in May 08. They both seem to be about the same (according to many reviews I have read).. is there anything that would separate the two (good or bad)?? I had also considered the Silver Lake Resort but it seems as though these two had better reviews. I welcome any and all information as I need to make this booking as soon as possible. Thanks!!!!!!! I'd love to get vacation village. My sister stayed there last trip. Lovely rooms convenient etc. I don't know anything about the Fountains though. Hello,I own at Parkway but have yet to stay there kind of remote location for me and if you have kids not much for activities. I have stayed at Siler Lakes and loved it. I believe that there is now construction going on but was none when I was there lots of activities for families and nightly entertainment at the pool and bar. Hope this helps. stayed at Vacation Villa at Parkway twice - first trip - was great this last trip not so much they changed instead of letting you decide if you want to attend a sales pitch - you are forced they won't give you a parking permit unless you go.(okay brain washed by Disney - forget there is no security guard here - so parking permit is not necessary)also I hate and I mean Hate - those bumps in the roads to stop you from speeding - but when they are NOT necessary it is very irriating building 1 thur 3 - only had them where necessary and not excess with the later building - excess is not the work and in completely unnecessary places they are in the middle of the parking lot. Not near the cross walk (where I can see one) - but in the middle of areas - very very very silly they went speed bump mad with the building 6-12 - I won't stay in one of them again. Fountains only heard good things about for the Vacation Villa Parkaway I take International South (despite the front desk saying the other way is shorter. It is not - timed them - IS is much much quicker)and can get to Epcot in around 10 minutes less time for Studios. AK is around 8 minutes (less lights than Epcot) Are you going through the Vacation Store? They seem to have a great deal for Liki Tiki. Silver Lake. Village @ Parkway. Summerbay and Oak Plantation. Just curious if you had to pick from these which would you pick? This deal almost is too good to be true. Anyone use The Vacation Store? For those prices I'd gladly sit through a 90 min sales pitch. We have stayed at Vacation Village at Parkway 4 times and LOVED IT!!!We have stayed in the newer and older buildings but there is not much difference. The 2 bedrooms are like having 2 large 1 bedrooms and it's perfect for 2 couples traveling together. Email me. I have some pics if you want to see. We have stayed there in 2006 and did not have to attend a salespitch. Actually unless your rental contract specifically says you need to by law they can't make you do it. Driving time to the parks is so easy either way you go. As for the Fountains we have only driven past but have always wanted to stay there but they have some construction going on at this moment and they are constructing another pool. The drive to the parks is a little longer but not horrendous. How many in your party?Where are you renting from? What is vacation store? Website Please? Thanks for all of the replies! We have a free resort stay certificate for 7 nights and these resorts were on our list. They actually listed 36 of them but not all had availability for the dates we wanted. Wherever we stay we will have a two bedroom. I am pleased that the majority of you have good things to say about Parkway.. we will most likely go ahead and book with them... If anyone has anything further on the Fountains or Silver Lake. let me know. Thanks!!! Good looking half naked men and choreagraphed violence... what's not to love? Biting back is the only thing that I have ever seen work the presidents must all be facing forward We've stayed at Parkway several times now. We're booked again for Thanksgiving week. Presidents Week and Thanksgiving 2008. I should just go ahead and buy there We like it a lot. The jacuzzi in the king bedroom is really nice too. The ONLY thing negative I have to say is that the parking sucks. If you stay out past 7pm you can't find anything close to the door. I have exchanges and bonus vacations through RCI and they can't make me go through a sales pitch unless I want to get some extra cash (no need for tickets). silver lake is a whole bunch closer was Cypress Pointe or Sheraton Vistana Resort on your list? I don't think Cypress Pointe was on my list but. I am pretty sure Sheraton Vistana is on it. Is it any good?Is Silver Lake comparable to Parkway?
