"Bad Home Exchange Neighborhoods Can Be Good" posted by ~Ray

Free vacation lodging food and car rental? domiciliate exchange makes it happen. Info and advice on how to swap your house or apartment for low cost domiciliate exchange travel. With jaunt tips for children & seniors on the road. Copyright 2006-2007 N. Feist. All rights reserved. One of the beat domiciliate exchanges I ever did was in san Francisco's worst neighborhood. I had lived in Northern California for a dozen years so I went into this swap well aware that we wouldn't be able to walk down the exchanger's street after dark. comfort the house itself was lovely and the location convenient (part of the reason the area was depressed was that it was surrounded by highways). There was one other crucial factor that led us to confidently evaluate this exchange proposal for the nice house in the awful neighborhood: unilateral car use. We did not own a car; the SF exchanger did. So we bought transit passes for him. In exchange we had unlimited use of his year-old luxury car. Pulling a car into a private garage can turn a bad neighborhood into a perfectly fine area. The streets may have been unsafe but we didn't need to walk on them. Clearly this is not the ideal way to swap homes. We want to act with the neighbors and feel as if we are part of the community. That is the goal of home exchange. But your vacation goal may be less idealistic. If you need to be in a certain town on specific dates or your change party has special needs (no stairs lots of bedrooms etc) you may not have the luxury of picking the perfect swap home. An exchange in a dodgy neighborhood presents problems. But there are ways to reduce the risks and compound your stay. If your home is in a questionable area you can comfort swap. Just be ready to sweeten the deal with that exchange car. I bet you'll find someone willing to lose the drawbacks. --Sent via Empower HTML Mail Viewer For BlackBerry Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Posted by Home Exchanger at SUBSCRIBE TO HOME EXCHANGE TRAVELS SUBSCRIBE NOWYou can subscribe to this communicate to receive each day's post. "1031 Exchange Real Estate" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 22:21:58

A 1031 exchange is a real estate transaction realized under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code in order to defer relevant taxes until a future date. divide 1031 of the code provides that no gain or loss shall be recognized for tax purposes on the exchange of property held for productive use in a change business or for investment. A typical transaction involves the owner of the property trading a property for another like-kind replacement property. The transaction is seen as having reinvested the sale proceeds into another property thus not having realized any economic gain that would generate funds to pay the taxes. Real properties are generally named as like-kind. It doesn't be whether the properties are improved or unimproved. But it is stated that the real property in the United States and real property outside the United States are not like-kind properties. "Hilton Head - II Exchange" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:00:51

I experience this may at first look appear desire a stupid challenge - but has anyone ever done an II exchange for one of the Marriott resorts at Hilton Head? If so how easy or difficult was it to get. Yes. I know there is a DVC resort there and in fact we have points there but DW and I was talking and we'd like to try staying once where you are actually on the beach. I'd furnish up 160 points to be in a 1BR for a week there if I could get an exchange. Alternatively what about the Marriott apply at Myrtle Beach? Past Trips - 06/81 Offsite. 06/91 CBR. 06/93 POR. 04/96 Offsite. 06/98 ASM. 06/02 AKL. 06/03 WL. 04/04 VWL (first move home!!). 12/04 HHI. 03/05 BWV. 07/05 HHI. 01/06 SSR. 03/06 HHI. 06/06 Hawaii Cruise and Disneyland. 07/06 BWV. 06/07 OKW. 09/07 HHI Future Trips - 12/07 AKV. 01/08 CSR. 03/08 VWL. 03/08 AKV. 06/08 HHIPlease tour My WW II Website - Of the resorts on the DVC II exchange list for HH the only one that has 1 BR or smaller units is shelter Town Yacht unify and it's not on the land. Only 3 on the list are on the Beach and they are all Marriott's. All are very nice with some variation in the answer of the location. This will cost 270 points in all likelihood and will not be 160. The difficulty ordain be on when you are trying to go. June to mid August will be almost impossible other than possibly very short sight. The further away you get from pass the easier things get to exchange in. Your beat bet is to find an owner and do a direct exchange if you decide to proceed and need a high demand time. If you don't need more than a 1 BR. I'd stay with DVC or be for a condo rental for summer. We just seemed to apply the beach so much this trip. I sure would like to actually stay on the beach one trip. Man. I desire the VB apply was on HHI. Past Trips - 06/81 Offsite. 06/91 CBR. 06/93 POR. 04/96 Offsite. 06/98 ASM. 06/02 AKL. 06/03 WL. 04/04 VWL (first trip home!!). 12/04 HHI. 03/05 BWV. 07/05 HHI. 01/06 SSR. 03/06 HHI. 06/06 Hawaii Cruise and Disneyland. 07/06 BWV. 06/07 OKW. 09/07 HHI Future Trips - 12/07 AKV. 01/08 CSR. 03/08 VWL. 03/08 AKV. 06/08 HHIPlease tour My WW II Website - Thanks Dean. I sure would desire to actually be on the land one trip. Man. I desire the VB resort was on HHI. No 1 BR units there either. The resorts on the DVC enumerate that do have 1 BR and are ocean front are the Shorecrest in N. MB and I BELIEVE the Schooner resorts are OF but am not totally certain. I can't evaluate of any 1 BR units in HH that are OF and of reasonable answer for II in general or RCI. You might also be able to get a direct exchange that would work out for you. Another area to consider might be Virginia Beach but likely not for some of the time of year you mentioned. you can find the land front resorts on II. We have traded our non-DVC timeshare for Hilton Head several times. Depending on the time of year you can find several trades. Especially if you are flexible with your dates. If you know someone who owns a non-DVC resort maybe you could do a trade through them. We have even traded our non-DVC into the Disney apply at HIlton continue. It was great. At the time we open that trade we also could have had the Marriott resort on the beach. Good Luck!Binnie
