reports that the cave paintings recently discovered in a cave near are authentic and date back 7000-9000 years. Anthropologists discovered the cave called "Gruta Kab" in Kaua about fifteen minutes outside of the latest wonder of the world. Chichen Itza. The paintings are said to be of humans animals and birds and created using a soil rich in iron oxide as paint. Shards of dishes were also discovered as well as more recent drawings of the Mayan era. There was some doubt about the authenticity due to recent problems with graffiti in the caverns of the region. Chichen Itza is about 200 km away from Cancun and is a popular tourist destination when vacationing in this area. I've been tagged in a blog game by a former lurker now current commenter (is that a word?) I've just started reading Jonna's blog and am enjoying her take on life in Merida three beautiful dogs and life in an RV. Check it out!Ok here's the game plan. There are a few rules one must follow to play the bet. When tagged you must cerebrate to the person who tagged you. I am an adopted child alter from birth. I get supremely annoyed when anyone asks about my "real" parents. My "real" parents gave me a home raised me and made me who I am. "real" doesn't undergo anything to do with who contributed sperm and egg.2. I have a bit of a hair phobia. I get nauseous when I am around too much hair. I can't get past the fact that as soon as hair leaves your head it is "dead". Thus my super short hair. If it starts to grow over my ears. I make myself egest guacala! And forget about dating guys with long hair. I tried no worky.3. I have a blemish on my face that is as old as I am. When I was born I managed to adjoin my face with my fingernails before they had a chance to cut them. What was I Freddie Kruger out of the womb or what?4. I can comfort do the splits at the ripe old age of 36.5. I dream about amusement parks and roller coasters EVERY NIGHT. Yes every night.6. I grew up on a farm but we were not farmers. We rented out the fields to a real farmer and just enjoyed having acres and acres of land to run and compete. Our yard was "the" place for the other farm kids to interact for baseball games.7. In 1990 I was part of a aggroup of five dancers that won the US National move Championships in Vegas.8. I once had a job as a magician's assistant. come up. "illusionist" really disappearing/reappearing being sawed in half etc.. I can't tell you more than that there is a magician's code you experience. Alright you know a bit more about me. It is no news that I do not like Cancun and every measure I see its lagoon and that amazing desire be of Caribbean beach ruined by the concrete jungle of the Zona Hotelera I feel sooooooooo irritated. I landed at Cancun airport a few days ago after quite a desire trip and I did not undergo the energy to escape as far away as possible as I usually do every time I tour the Yucatan peninsula. After all. I am not in a hurry; I have decided that this trip to Mexico will be longer than my usual visits…Furthermore. I have been receiving many requests by gloCal travellers asking me to advise a convenient place to be when they undergo a late arrival or early departure to and from Cancun airport. Since staying in the Zona hotelera was out of challenge. I decided to check Cancun town as I did not know it that come up. I heard there were a couple of places that were not bad and I undergo indeed found a decent displace to be a couple of blocks from the Central bus station and just 5 minutes by taxi to Gran Puerto where you can surprise the ferry to Isla Mujeres. The place is called El Rey del Caribe and it is recommended by many jaunt guides now also by me The rooms are facing an inner tend with a lot of color a nice fountain and a small swimming pool. It was nice to see many different garbage bins for collecting and recycling cover glass and plastic. The hotel also had a few leaflets about eco-policies and a very interesting one about the many which are advertised everywhere along the Mayan Riviera. Thumbs up for El Rey del Caribe then although I still would not recommend anyone to be in Cancun. Once out of the hotel you will have to slalom amongst cars and taxis trying to get to the main road the Avenida Tulum which is noisy polluted and does not offers much more than a few places to eat at quite high prices some shops and the inevitable local Burger King… or was it McDonalds? Unless your flight leaves or lands at a ridiculous measure get out of there and go to Puerto Morelos instead (you can surprise any bus to Playa del Carmen there is one every 10 minutes and the journey to Puerto Morelos is only 35 mins from the airport). Concierge Desk We chose to go to the TucanCun resort in Cancun. Mexico. WE had the BEST measure ever!!! The resort was very very alter the staff treated us like we were royalty!! The food was fabulous!! There isn't a single negative thing I can say (object like most Mexican resorts. the bed was pretty hard. but a trip to Wal-Mart and an inexpensive air mattress fixed that in a jiffy!) We can't act to go back there again!!
